Hot Hot Hot Pot

I consumed my 13 dollar apple this morning for breakfast. It was very sweet, not tangy at all, not even the peel. And it was kinda mealy, very soft, but also not super juicy. It was HUGE. I felt like I was eating for hours. I assume it was a Fuji apple, imported and grown in Japan. I was informed that in general apples here are expensive, but not like this one!

As my father said as a comment in my last blog, my blog has a lot of food in it! Well, I love food, so, let's just say a large part of the blog's theme will be food!

In addition to my very expensive apple. Per and I tried some Chinese cookie things: Mini Puffs and some "Petite series" cookies. And remember! If you can't read the nutrition facts, they are fat free and calorie free and very full of vitamins and minerals :)

Below is a picture of my 13 dollar apple core and the cookie containers (bc the cookies are gone!):

Tonight we asked Per's graduate program collegues to go to dinner with us to a Hot Pot restaurant. This was both social as well as strategic for us. One of the new graduates here in Tianjin happens to be from Shanghai...she speaks CHINESE! This was the restaurant we tried to go to the other day, and I'm glad she went with us because it was yummy! And quite fun too! The whole dinner, tons of food for 4 people, cost 20 bucks, including 4 giant beers!!!! HOW CRAZY IS THAT! Not much more than my damn apple!
